Our Environment

Research has shown that children learn best in a natural home like environment, so the centre has been decorated to create a more natural environment without the institutional style of many centres. Take a walk through the rooms and feel the atmosphere as children play happily and learn in a relaxing space.

We add to this environment in ways that enrich children’s experiences and invite families to participate in creating exciting spaces for children to include cultural diversity, indigenous educations and sustainable practices. We are committed to sustainability and conservation as well as to nurturing the natural environment.

The Educators use the physical environment as the third teacher to promote choices through the day. The outdoors is an important element in the care and education of the children and the Outdoor Educator works with the other team members to provide exciting and meaningful activities and events to ensure the children can learn about their world. In addition, the children are involved in growing vegetables and herbs for use in the centre kitchen which provides meals for the children daily and gives the children the opportunity to be involved in, and understand the world around them.
